![]() They use this attack a lot no matter the range. They have one attack that brings the arms to you, for you to kill, and has an impressive downtime. Sure, it takes a while, but it's also trivial. People like to claim that Yatsu is a filter but, to be frank, this is pretentious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because you can beat Yatsu trivially if you play passively. Originally posted by phenir:No offense but this is unrelated. But even that one is avoided by simply mashing dodge the moment you bounce off of her. Her grabs, particularly the counter one, are the only real threat there. Ren is a definite agree, and I really don't understand how so many people have issues with Nyotengu. Toshimitsu doesn't either, but he's a pain because he's technically post-game DLC and has stupid high ki-regen. Nyotengu Honda doesn't have any one hit kills in NG, unless you are SEVERELY underleveled on gear. Honda Tadakatsu - One hit kills, hyper armor (Use high stance, and/or sword ki) the 'Obsidian Samurai' is a good practice. Saito Toshimitsu - One hit kills, unblockable attacks, onmyo shikigami Until you learn the game mechanics and apply them effectively, you are only going to suffer in these fights. Veteran players in Nioh 2 fighting these 2 below should know what i'm talking about. Originally posted by Cows with Guns:IMO, for first timers, the real mood killers are in chapter 3, 'Shadow' Blue graves are npcs, real players come from the shrine. You could also just summon help to kill him. Lightning shot and lightning talismans are also useful since he is weak to those elements. Some recommended jutsu if you can get them would be resistance talismans, anti-toxin and anti-paralysis pills, and of course the almighty barrier. ![]() ![]() Only switch to the head if you manage to deplete his ki. I highly recommend locking-on to the body since targeting the head will make you spin around if you get too close and whiff attacks. You can lock-on to two spots on Yatsu, his head and the spot where his body meets the ground. Once they are out of the way, he should be low on ki. Unlike most yokai, his arms are not immune to stagger so you can hack at them freely. I recommend on focusing on his arms and just listening for his burst attack and being ready to evade out of the way. If you kill an arm it does a decent amount of damage and ki damage to Yatsu and also staggers him. While there are arms alive, Yatsu prefers doing his slide attack and sometimes spitting poison and throwing needles. When he starts a dark realm, both his arms, if they are still alive, come off and attack separately. I'm not sure if brute can still counter after he is sliding. Don't try to back off and then counter it after he has already started sliding. When he does his burst attack, you can only counter it with phantom, and probably feral, at the start. Attacking his head will only stagger him if the crystals are glowing which takes some time if you have just hit it. You can also play chicken with him when he does a slide attack. This is only really viable to hit when he slams it down occasionally. Like almost all yokai, he has a weakpoint which is his head. There are three of them, one is out in the open, one is in a cave, and the last one is tied to the dark realm which also happens to be covering a shrine. Attack is extremely important at the early stages of the game.įirst, make sure you drained all the poison pools by destroying the snake statues earlier in the stage. Since you mentioned you do little damage, make sure your weapons are as high level as you can get them. The most variation is when the boss begins to enter the dark realm on a timer, and that was when I learned that you stagger the boss if you kill one of the tiny snakes which certainly makes the fight easier.ĭid I do something wrong or is it meant to be super tedious and lengthy? I get varying opinions on this: some people say it's meant to be a tedious snoozefest, others are surprised that I deal so little damage with 217 attack. The boss would lose like 3% of it's health by the time I killed an arm, and I'd need to repeat this several times until it died. ![]() The way I beat them, after three tries, was as follows: I waited for them to bury their arms in the ground, and then ran up and sliced at the arms. Yes, they can totally be beaten (obviously) but the point is that it wasn't fun and gave me LotF vibes. ![]() Is Yatsu-no-Kami a mood-killer for anyone else? The game's incredibly fun, but running into a boss you deal like fractional damage at best to, that can kill you in two or three hits is not. Now, I tried posting this on the Reddit but it's pretty much dead with like 120 active users during peak. ![]()
